🌄🐦🦆

The Vransko Lake Nature Park is one of the 12 nature parks in the Republic of Croatia, encompassing Vransko Lake and its surroundings. It was declared in 1999, covering an area of 57 km². Administratively, it is located in the Zadar and Šibenik-Knin counties, as part of the city of Benkovac and the municipalities of Pakoštane, Stankovci, Pirovac, and Tisno.

Vransko Lake is the largest natural lake in Croatia, essentially a karst field filled with water. The park has recorded about 235 bird species, including 102 nesting species, primarily wetland birds, while others use the lake as a resting place during migration or wintering. According to estimates, between 20,000 and 200,000 birds can be present daily during the autumn migration in the park.
